BOUTIQUE HOTEL? HOME HOTEL?

OR JUST A GREAT HOLIDAY?

Boutique hotels are few and far between in Provence, France. Whilst we would group ourselves among the best boutique hotels in the world as far as style and ambience goes, we would also hesitate in describing Le Foulon as a boutique hotel.

Why? Because we think they were a knee jerk reaction to traditional four and five star hotels by the style conscious and like most things fashionable, they have had their day.

Even the style conscious saw this coming and came up with yet another moniker for yet another new type of hotel - home hotel. Because boutique hotels weren't exactly conducive to relaxing (they're not the kind if place where you can wear that favourite pair of scruffy jeans and feel comfortable!) the term 'home' hotel was conjured up.

Perhaps Le Foulon has more to do with this term, where style does not exceed function, and fashion comes second to comfort, but at the same time we would rather not be grouped together with any kind of fashionable and datable label.

We are what we are - a very comfortable place to stay, eat and relax in Provence.
