WALKS AND WILD LIFE |
|
If you are up with the sun you
will doubtless see Deer grazing, and if you're lucky
you'll spot Wild Boar too. The most we've ever
encountered was a family of 7, from piglets to large males;
a stunning sight.
There is a large and varied bird population,
from Eagles and Grifon Vultures, to the
Nuthatch, and we have the reference books
to help you identify them.

The beautiful
Provençal countryside is perfect for nature walks -
this is part of our grounds |
|
In the spring there is also the most amazing
variety of butterflies, attracted by the myriad blossoming
trees and shrubs, as well as our own meadow left
to grow wild. In fact the Alpes-Maritimes has the most species
of moth and butterfly anywhere in Europe. |
|
There are more walks in this valley alone than
the experienced hiker could tackle in a week. And they range
from the easy going (45 minutes to the village of Cipieres
for a light lunch) to the hike up the Montagne du Cheiron
at 1778m.
Le Foulon is situated at 576m.
Should you need it, we have both the maps and
the knowledge to point you in the right direction.
