As relaxed or as manic as you like

There is such a variety of sporting activities to be enjoyed around here it's difficult to keep up. From World class paragliding, to category one rock climbs, a view of the Med' from astride a horse to pristine Golf courses that rival any other on the globe.

We even have a small ski resort just up the road at Gréolières les Neiges where you can ski in sight of the Mediterranean.

Hiking

Slow that hike down, you're on holiday! With both soft and hard routes leading from Le Foulon itself, the scenery is magnificent, air is pure and a chat with the trees and a glimpse of wild animals is the best tonic. "Why don't we walk up to Gréolières for lunch" is never a bad suggestion, and nearby Cipières is the next favourite waypoint for a 'plat de jour'. For those that take hiking a bit more seriously, then there are longer and higher routes through our unspoilt and uncrowded corner of France.

Golf

There are 7 top class 18 hole golf courses little more than half an hours drive from Le Foulon. Heading towards the coast the courses like the Royal Mougins and the Opio Golf Club offer immaculately cared for greens in very pretty surroundings. A little further afield is the Monte Carlo Golf Club, but if you want good value, amazing scenery and few other golfers to get in your way then the Gary Player designed course at the Chateau Taulane is the best bet.

Paragliding

Not only is Gréolières a great site for the experienced pilot, it is also totally accessible by the novice flying solo or as a tandem. But that's just within sight of our garden (when on a busy day you can see a spread of brightly coloured sails set against the mountain and blue sky beyond) and between 15 minutes and just over an hour's drive there are a further 6 top class sites, including the stunningly beautiful Gourdon.

Horse Riding

15 minutes drive from Le Foulon are 3 stables offering treks on the mountains high above Vence and Tourettes sur Loup. With views down to the Mediterranean a thousand metres below it's a wonderful place to ride.

Motor Sport & the Route Napoleon

Being motor sport and classic car fans ourselves this was one more reason to move here. Great roads, great races and great history abound, and whether it's the glamour of the Monaco Grands Prix or the joy of pushing your own car on superb roads, you won't be disappointed.

Canyoning

The popular past time in the Gorge du Loup (5 minutes drive down from Le Foulon) is called Canyoning; the sport of squeezing into a wet suit and descending into the rushing white waters of the gorge and emerging the other end.

Climbing

There are several great climbs in the area and the French equip certain climbing routes with pitons and wire hand rails. Known as 'via ferrata' our nearest is just 5 minutes drive to Courmes, the next village down the gorge, and a short hike by footpath. There is equally good climbing to be found in Gourdon, 10 minutes drive away. We are currently seeking a partnership with local climbing guides to provide a deal for our guests.
