Audibergue and a view of Cannes
30 minutes drive into the hills from Le Foulon and you come to the most southerly ski resort in the Alps: Audibergue - la Moulière. It has a forest of marked trails for mountain bikes and a chair lift that runs all summer, as well as bike and equipment hire.
It's also a fantastic walk with far reaching views down to the bay of Cannes and the Estoril beyond, including Lac de Saint-Cassien in the Var. On this particular day in September we were joined by no less than 16 Griffon Vultures, with a wing span of up to 1.8 metres. They eyed up our picnic before gliding away.
